days 26 & 27

it's already starting. I'm getting lazy about doing this blog. :-P
so, i went into class on Friday for my first practice driving sessions. driving backwards and forwards for a half hour at a time. totally boring. the instructor said if it wasn't my first day, he woulda gave me a 3 out of 4 but the other instructors don't like to see anyone getting more than a 2 on their first day. :-P
all day Saturday my left thigh was sore from pushing in the clutch on those big things. i got a real work out on that leg on Friday.
the first half of today was  the same and then after lunch i was with a few other guys and we were practicing coupling/uncoupling the cab from the trailer. the instructor did a pretty good job of making me have a panic attack from my social anxiety disorder. i took truck driving to avoid contact with a bunch of people. :-P after an hour break and me calming down we went back for a second time. this time i went last. i was the only one to fall in the mud trying to pull the lever to release the king pin to separate the cab from the trailer. oddly i didn't get to upset about that. if it was going to happen to someone it'd usually be me. :-P

CDL Temps

i took and passed the passenger endorsement exam today. the guy at the BMV talked me into taking the tanker endorsement exam too. it was just as easy as he said it was. so i got my CDL temporary permit. i'm going back to school tomorrow to start practicing driving those huge things.
i took practice tests on cristcdl.com and there is errors in the passenger endorsement test. i took it twice this morning and the second time i used the answer they told me was the correct one the first time and it was wrong the second time. i believe it is section 5 question 5. anyway. i think i got only 1 or 2 wrong on the actual exam and once i got to the point where i could no longer fail getting questions wrong, the exam stopped. with the tanker exam i skipped 1 and didn't get any wrong.

well, i took a 3 day leave of absence so i can work on getting the final endorsements that i need to get my cdl temps. i passed air breaks and failed passenger so i'll try again tomorrow.

Update

I failed my combination vehicle exam so I have to take them all over starting tomorrow morning.

Day 24 of school

Yesterday with almost no studying I passed the passenger endorcement. I'd studied for the combination vehicle endorcement several times and failed again. If I fail again today I'll have to retake general knowledge, air breaks, passenger and combination vehicle. :'( I need all 4 of them to get my temporary permit by next Wednesday. Just my luck its new years eve weekend and the testing centers are closed on mondays. I will have until noon on Saturday to retake all of them if I fail today. If I don't have my temp permit I'll need to take a leave of absence until I do have it.
I can only get 4 wrong out of 20 questions on this exam.

day 21 of cdl school

Today we took the first final exam that she should've took last week. The instructor went over the questions before we took the exam and I still only got an 88%. Then we watched a movie called F.I.S.T. about unions. So I decided to work on my blog since the movie is boring and not required.
I still have to pass the combination vehicle and passenger (bus) endorcement exams. Need to study!
